Jami Seymore joined the KRQE News 13 team in February 2019.
Born and raised in Battle Creek, Michigan, Jami then made her way to the Southern Nevada desert of Las Vegas in 2009. She graduated in 2013 from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas with a journalism degree. After graduating, Jami worked at KSNV News 3 in Las Vegas. In her four years there, she worked a number of different positions, including digital reporter, web producer, assignment desk editor and video editor.
As a digital reporter, she reported on many major events in the Las Vegas area, including the Route 91 shooting tragedy where she received an Edward R. Murrow Award for team coverage, the final presidential debate at UNLV, music festivals like Life is Beautiful and Electric Daisy Carnival and celebrity red carpet events.
After nine years in Vegas, she kicked off her full-time reporting career in Amarillo, Texas, where she had the honor of frequently working with area veterans and active military, even traveling to Washington D.C. for three days to cover the Texas Panhandle Honor Flight. During her time in the panhandle, she also served as the station’s weekend anchor and producer.
Jami loves exploring with her terrier mix, Granger, (yes after Hermione Granger), so if you have dog-friendly hiking trails or good book suggestions, she’s all ears.
