Haylee is a native New Mexican, born and raised right here in Albuquerque.
In 2016, she graduated Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado with a B.A. in Communications. She then moved to England to complete her M.A. in International Multimedia Journalism at Newcastle University.
During her studies, Haylee interned with the Press Association, working to share the stories of refugees from Africa. After graduation, she accepted a Work Experience with BBC Minute at the BBC World Service in London. There, she reported on everything from a drug kingpin in Thailand, to Prince George’s first day of school.
Haylee returned to Albuquerque in the fall of 2017 and was hired on as a News Producer here at KRQE. She has enjoyed her time curating newscasts, but is excited to get back in the field as a Digital Community Reporter and can’t wait to share grassroots stories from her fellow New Mexicans.
Haylee loves to meet new people and learn about their cultures. She’s had the privilege of traveling to 20 different countries and hopes to continue to explore. In her free time, you’ll find Haylee rock climbing or trying out new recipes. If you see her at the rock gym, she hopes you’ll stop and say hello!
