Ann Pierret joins the KRQE News Team excited to serve the whole state of New Mexico. Having spent the last several years in Michigan, she is also eager to enjoy some warmer weather.
Ann grew up in Arlington, Texas. She attended Fordham University in the Bronx, NY. After graduation, Ann moved to Lansing, MI where she began her TV news career as a Multimedia Journalist and Fill-In Anchor. Two years later, as the Flint Water Crisis was ongoing, Ann pursued a role at ABC12 News in Flint, MI.
During her 5 years in the Vehicle City, Ann stayed on top of the Flint Water Criminal Investigation and kept the community up to date on the civil settlement process. She also detailed discrepancies on where the state’s money for Flint was dished out in the wake of the water crisis. Ann led the station’s coverage of Kevin Bacon’s death, a man allegedly murdered by a cannibal on Christmas Eve. Recently, her work exposing an absentee landlord led the City to condemn two apartment complexes, getting more than 70 residents into safer housing.
Ann is an Edward R. Murrow, Michigan Association of Broadcasters and Associated Press award-winner. As an avid righter-of-wrongs, she is dedicated to providing accessibility and a voice to the community. Ann is committed to following up and continuing the coverage as long as it takes.
