ABQ Animal Welfare to offer free microchipping

Always On

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Animal Welfare Department wants to make sure all pets return home if they’re ever lost.

From Tuesday, August 6 through Sunday, August 11, the department will offer free microchipping to all Albuquerque residents.

Pet owners can take their animals to either the westside shelter or the eastside shelter between 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. No appointment is needed.

Pet owners must be at least 18-years-old and have a valid driver’s license to obtain a microchip as it will be registered to that ID holder.
