ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - There is a new feature at Balloon Fiesta Park to let people know if the balloons will fly or not.
A 40 foot pole has been set up at the main stage to inform balloonists and attendees about weather conditions and communicate the status of flying events.
The color of the flag will be changed from green to yellow if an event is delayed due to weather. Officials say the flag will be red if an event is cancelled.
The new pole went up at the park Tuesday morning.
Park officials say they hope the flag will be useful to let guests know about the day’s activities.
