Kristen's Wednesday Morning Forecast

Near record warmth to start the spring season...

March 21st 2018 - High pressure building over the state will help temperatures skyrocket above seasonal averages Wednesday and Thursday afternoon. Expect afternoon temps to top out in the 70s in the Albuquerque-metro... about 10°-15° above normal for this time of year.

Mostly to partly sunny conditions will blanket the state with no significant shot at showers until late Thursday night.

Our next big weather maker will be in the form of a "scraper storm" meaning the system will "scrape" northern NM, but ultimately leave New Mexico on the wrong side of the storm. The majority of us can expect an uptick in strong winds and fire danger Friday afternoon... with only those in the northwest and southern CO favored for a handful of rain showers and thunderstorms.

Temperatures will cool slightly this weekend but even with a small drop in temps, highs will remain above average underneath a southwesterly flow.
