ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Heavy rains are causing flooding and flash flood worries in parts of southern New Mexico.
The National Weather Service say severe weather on Friday struck parts of Grant, Luna, Sierra and Dona Ana counties. Forecasters say some storms could be severe, with large hail, damaging winds, and heavy rain.
A flash flood warning has been issued for parts of western Sierra County until late morning.
Water crossings near Winston, New Mexico, are already impassable. Areas along Highway 27 between Lake Valley and Hillsboro are expected to experience significant flooding.
