LOS LUNAS, N.M. (KRQE) - A woman was airlifted to University Hospital in Albuquerque after an accident in Valencia County Monday morning.
The woman was driving a car along Highway 47 near El Cerro Loop around 6 a.m. when police said she crashed into the back of a truck carrying construction equipment. Police said the truck driver will actually be cited for failure to yield and improper equipment.
The woman is being treated for massive head injuries. Her name hasn't been released yet.
The highway was reopened shortly after 8 a.m.
