RIO RANCHO, N.M. (KRQE) - Rio Rancho officials expect to reopen one lane each way on Unser Boulevard late Thursday evening as utility workers deal with a water main break and associated road damage.
The street has been closed at Northern Boulevard since Wednesday evening.
The single northbound and southbound lanes should be open about 9 p.m., according to a notice on the city of Rio Rancho website.
Until then officials suggest motorist steer clear of the area.
Additional road restrictions will remain in place until road repairs are completed:
- Northbound Unser Boulevard: No left-turn to westbound Northern Boulevard
- Southbound Unser Boulevard: No right-turn to westbound Northern Boulevard
- Eastbound Northern Boulevard traffic from west of Unser Boulevard: No direct access to Unser intersection; traffic diverted to Acorn Loop and Acano Circle
Updates on fully reopening the intersection will be posted on the city's website, social media and on the RioVision cable channel 15.
