Lobos beat Wyoming a third time to advance to MW Tournament semifinals

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) - The University of New Mexico Lobos took the first step towards trying to reach the Mountain West Tournament title game. The Lobos beat Wyoming in the quarterfinals Thursday night 85-75.

It was the third time the Lobos beat the Cowboys this season. Lobos forward Joe Furstinger scored a career high 23 points in the win. He also pulled down 9 rebounds. Troy Simons added 15 points while Antino Jackson added 11 points and 4 assists.

The Lobos won the battle on the glass with 38 rebounds to that of 27 for Wyoming. The Cowboys were led by Alan Herndon's 19 points. With the win the Lobos improved to 18-14 on the season.

Wyoming drops to 20-13. The Lobos will face Utah State in the Mountain West semifinals Friday night. The game has a 9:30 pm mountain start time. The game will also be broadcast on CBS Sports Network.
