LAS VEGAS, N.M. (AP) - Coaches at Robertson HighSchool failed to adequately supervise boys at a football camp lastmonth or look into allegations of sexual assault by other players,allowing more boys to fall victim, according to a report bydistrict officials.
After the allegations surfaced, six football players weresuspended 10 days for violating the district's anti-bullyingpolicy. Five subsequently were suspended through the end of theyear; a sixth was expelled.
New Mexico State Police separately issued a 102-page report lastweek on the hazing, which involved allegations of sodomy with abroomstick.
The investigation by the Las Vegas City Schools districtconcluded that coaches should have been checking cabins more oftenand making sure coaches were available during breaks for propersupervision.
