Suspect arrested in NMSU student's death

ARTESIA, N.M. (KRQE) - Artesia police have made an arrest in the murder of a New Mexico State University student. Police say 20-year-old Daniel Aguilera is the man who shot and killed Andres Rojo and wounded another person.

It happened in early July in the 1400 block of Yucca Avenue in Artesia. NMSU officials say Rojo was close to earning his degree.

Police say there was a brief stand-off before they arrested Aguilera but no one was hurt.

He's scheduled to appear before a judge Tuesday.
