ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The race to earn the Republican nomination for governor is aboutto get more crowded.
News 13 has learned that Pete Domenici Jr. will official jumpinto the race this weekend.
Domenici Jr. is an Albuquerque lawyer with no politicalexperience, but he carries a big last name in New Mexicopolitics.
"It's pretty big news for the Republican Party they have a majorname now and he probably starts with an advantage because of thatbut it's not going to be any easy task for him to get thenomination," political analyst Joe Monahan said.
There are four other Republicans in the field.
Domenici Jr. will officially announce his run for governorSunday at 1:00 p.m. at the Embassy Suites in Albuquerque.
Current Lt. Gov. Diane Denish is the only Democrat in the raceso far.
