LOS LUNAS, N.M. (KRQE) - The village of Los Lunas is trying to put a stop to the planned hospital in Belen by filing a lawsuit.
The village is asking that the approved contract between the Belen and county for the allocation of hospital mill levy funds be declared invalid.
Los Lunas and Belen have long fought over where the hospital will go. But last month the Valencia County Commission voted to give the money to Belen if it met a number of requirements.
Los Lunas had said it would move forward with its own hospital without the funds.
Now the village is citing four reasons why that contract is invalid and asking it be ruled void.
No hearing date for the lawsuit has been set.
