CURRY COUNTY (KRQE) - Curry County residents head to the polls Tuesday to determine the fate of the troubled jail.
Commissioners are asking voters to approve a $9 million bond issue to expand and improve the jail.
Commissioners say the expansion is badly needed and will help eliminate many problems including overcrowding and escapes.
The plan is to build a 60-bed addition to the existing jail then renovate the original jail.
