DURANGO, Colo. (KRQE) - Investigators are looking into a deadly deputy-involved shooting in Durango.
Late Saturday Durango police and La Plata County Sheriff's deputies responded to a suicidal man with a gun at Dallabetta Park.
When officers approached the man he reportedly fired one round. A La Plata County Sheriff's deputy then fired back.
The man died at the scene but it's not yet known if he shot himself or died from the deputy's bullet.
That man has not been identified.
The deputy involve is on standard paid leave during the investigation.
