ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The man who accidentally shot his son last week, is a prominent attorney in Valencia County.
Police say John D'amato went outside his home in Los Lunas with a gun because he heard a car alarm.He saw someone approaching the house and fired one shot.
The person he shot turned out to be his 16 year-old son who he did not think was home that night.
The boy was hit in the chest and is expected to be ok.
D'amato has not been charged.
