Navajo filmmaker accused of rape released from jail

DURANGO, Colo. (KRQE) - A Navajo filmmaker accused of rape has been let out of jail.

Kody Dayish was arrested Saturday while he was attending the Durango Independent Film Festival in connection to a sexual assault the day before.

The Shiprock native has made a number of films in New Mexico focusing on Navajo culture.

His bond was originally set at $250,000, but the Durango Herald reports Judge Dondi Osbourne agreed to release him on his own recognizance.
