Owl receives treatment after flying into Albuquerque high-rise

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) - An owl is back in the wild after an unfortunate encounter with a high-rise.

The long horned owl spent the weekend at the Cottonwood Rehab Center in Espanola.

It was left with a ruptured cornea and bruised shoulder after flying into a building in Albuquerque.

It happened while a group of animal rehabilitators were taking a class. They were quick to jump in and help.

After surgery and a little TLC, the owl was good to go back into the wild after a couple of days.
