Dog lost near Taos Gorge rescued, returned to owner

TAOS, N.M. (KRQE) - A local dog is back home thanks to his owner's good eyes and some local volunteers.

Michael Shaw was hiking with his dogs near the Taos Gorge Bridge West Rim on Thursday when his dog, "Buck," ran off.

Shaw spent the next two days searching the area when he miraculously spotted him about 40 feet down sitting on a ledge.

Two local climbers, Jay Foley and Kyle McMullin, volunteered to rappel down the wall to rescue Buck, who was returned to his owner Saturday afternoon.
