The long-term parking facility at the Albuquerque Sunport is back open and generating electricity to boot.
The new "economy" lot features wider spaces, covered parking and solar panels capable of generating one megawatt of electricity, which will be fed back into the building.
The lot now boasts 450 parking spaces in addition to the parking garage.
"We just think it's the way to go here in the Southwest," project manager Sterling Mahan said. "We've got so much sunshine we might as well utilize it."
