ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Torrance County deputies are investigating a fatal accident involving a pedestrian on I-40.
It happened early Friday morning about five miles east of Moriarty.
The Torrance County sheriff says a man in his 30's was walking along the highway when he walked into a traffic lane and was struck and killed.
The sheriff says the man was a local but his name has not been released.
He says the driver who hit him will not be charged.
Deputies were led on a chase around 4 p.m. Monday after a person called 911 to report their vehicle had been stolen and was being driven recklessly around Albuquerque.
