ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - City Council President Dan Lewis wants to hold a mail-in election on a late-term abortion ban.
Anti-abortion groups collected enough signatures to put the ban to a vote.
City Clerk Amy Bailey didn't certify the results in time to get it on the October ballot, but according to city charter, an election on the matter has to take place by Nov. 25.
Lewis will ask the City Council to schedule it for Nov. 19.
If there's a mayoral run-off election, it would likely take place that same day.
