ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Albuquerque firefighters were in the right place at the right time Monday afternoon to keep flames from destroying the trailer of a semi truck on I-40.
The fire happened around 4 p.m. An Albuquerque Fire Department crew from Ladder 13 was driving westbound on I-40 when the driver noticed some smoke from a semi truck's cab that was pulled over on I-40 eastbound.
AFD says the crew turned around, called additional units and put out the fire within 20 minutes. They say the fire was caused by an electrical malfunction.
The semi was hauling bricks used for manufacturing, according to the Albuquerque Fire Department.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured..
