ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A fire Monday night forced a family to escape the flames that wrecked their home.
Just before 10 p.m., firefighters arrived to find the home on Toreador Drive NE near Tramway and Candelaria fully engulfed in flames.
The fire became so intense so quickly additional firefighters and a pumper were called in. The roof then collapsed.
Because the flames had such a head start, firefighters mostly fought a defensive battle to keep the fire from spreading to neighboring homes.
At last report, fire investigators could not determine the cause of the fire although they report there are no signs of suspicious activity related to it.
