ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A crash, involving an Albuquerque police officer, injured a 12-year-old boy and the officer.
Albuquerque police say an officer was driving into work on I-40 near Rio Grande when another vehicle tried to merge into her lane.
The officer had to slam on her breaks and hit a median causing major damage to her car.
Police say the debris that broke off hit the other car trying to merge injuring a 12-year-old boy.
The boy was checked on scene and will be okay.
The officer was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
