ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A mayoral forum put on Thursday by the city of Albuquerque's police and fire unions was missing one notable candidate: Mayor Richard Berry.
The focus of Thursday’s debate was the state of the police and fire departments and the federal investigation into APD.
Both of Berry's challengers, Paul Heh and Pete Dinelli, were in attendance.
Berry’s name plate was featured on an empty chair.
Earlier this week, Berry's campaign told News 13 he would not be at Thursday's forum because the police and fire unions are against him.
They say this anti-Berry forum was partially paid for by the firefighters union.
