ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A hot air balloon made a hard landing this morning in Albuquerque after it caught fire Monday.
A KRQE viewer sent a video of the “Great Escape" balloon as it was going down near Fourth Street and Alameda.
Another viewer sent photos of the incident.
In one of them, there is a hole in the balloon just before it goes down.
According to Fiesta officials, the skirt on the balloon's envelope caught fire after hitting a rooftop air conditioning unit.
The balloon is based out of Peyton, Colo.
No injuries were reported, but one of the balloon's two passengers was ejected out of the basket when it
bounced on the ground and then finally came to a stop.
