ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) - An ammonia leak at a foods plant has sent more than a dozen people to the hospital.
It happened just before 10 o’clock Thursday morning at Leprino Foods on Omaha Road.
According to state police, the vapor leak has been stopped.
Seventeen employees who were in the building during the leak have all been accounted for, but all have been taken to local hospitals for inhalation treatment and observation.
There are no reports of any serious injuries.
State police say clean up will take several hours.
