ALBUQUERQUE (AP) - A report by the Annie E. Casey Foundation says New Mexico'sranking in the health and well-being of children has declined.
The state was 46th in the nation in this year's Kids Countreport. That's down from 43rd in 2009.
The report released on Tuesday bases its rankings on 10indicators of well-being for children. New Mexico is near thebottom nationally in several of those categories.
The state ranks 49th in teen birth rate. It's 48th in the teendeath rate and the percentage of children living in single-parentfamilies. New Mexico is 47th in the child poverty rate andpercentage of teens who are not in school and not high schoolgraduates.
