(KRQE) - Trujillo is a resident of the state of Washington, with familyroots in southern Colorado and northern New Mexico. A genealogicalstudy conducted by one of her relatives in the late 1990s revealedher family had Jewish roots. It was confirmed after she underwent agenetic test with her daughter in the year 2000, shortly after herdaughter was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. The test revealedTrujillo carries a genetic mutation that makes her especiallyvulnerable to certain types of cancer. Geneticists say the mutationis relatively unique to the Jewish population. Dozens of Trujillo'srelatives have been tested for the mutation. Many of them have it,too.
Bernalillo County Sheriff Dan Houston is accused of using his work office as his campaign office and tonight the Code of Conduct Review Board will hold a hearing Wednesday night on the issue.
