ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) - Arizona prison escapee John McCluskey has been found guilty on all counts, including premeditated first degree murder, for the deaths of Gary and Linda Haas of Oklahoma.
The couple was traveling through New Mexico in 2010 when they were carjacked and shot to death. Their bodies were found burned in their travel trailer.
The mother of victim Gary Haas sat in the courtroom every day of the month-long trial - and says she still doesn't have closure.
Vivian Haas said she won't have closure "until I feel forgiveness or something, but I don't."
Prosecutors said fingerprints and DNA on the murder weapon and statements McCluskey made to officers during his arrest, pointed to him as the triggerman.
Welch told jurors that she did whatever McCluskey told her and he had a temper. She said McCluskey pulled the trigger despite an agreement the Haas' would not be harmed.
Welch told jurors McCluskey snapped after learning the Haases lied to him about not having guns in their travel trailer.
McCluskey could face the death penalty. The verdict comes after roughly two month's worth of testimony and evidence.
The Haas family has dealt with two other tragedies in the past couple years.
Vivian Haas lost her home in the Joplin tornado in 2011.
