ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Two men have been arrested in a nearly 4-month-old murder case.
Dennys Mateo and Pedro Duenas Madruga were taken into custody Thursday.
Mateo was captured in Las Vegas, Nev., and is awaiting extradition back to New Mexico.
Madruga is being held at Metropolitan Detention Center on a no-bond hold. He was in court Friday to face a judge on an open count of murder.
Both men allegedly shot Kevin Swinehart, 34, in the head as Swinehart was running from them on Coal Avenue SE near University Boulevard in June. Swinehart died about two weeks after the June 13 shooting.
The two suspects were arrested after detectives located the murder weapon, DNA evidence, the getaway vehicle and the victim's stolen cell phone.
