ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - According to APD, homicide detectives have arrested two men in connection with a stabbing at the Walmart at 2701 Carlisle on Tuesday that left one man dead.
Abelardo Gonzalez, 52, and Andres Gonzalez, 28, were booked on charges including murder, tampering with evidence and conspiracy.
Police say Christopher Chase, 42, was stabbed in the parking lot of the store around 10:30 p.m.
Chase’s girlfriend told police Chase got into a fight with the men in the parking lot. Walmart security broke it up, but a short time later, the fight resumed and one of the men stabbed Chase.
APD said homicide detectives credited Walmart security personnel for helping track down the suspects. They were able to obtain a vehicle license plate number as the suspects drove away, police said. Northeast Field units also assisted in locating the suspects.
Abelardo Gonzalez and Andres Gonzalez are both at the Metropolitan Detention Center, police said, on a no-bond hold.
