ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A high school student received cuts to his face and the back of his head after someone threw a rock at the school bus he was riding Friday afternoon.
The attack happened at 98th Street and Amole Mesa SW in the Westgate neighborhood around 2:45 p.m.
"It hit me in the head, and then I just saw my face covered in glass," said Luis Trejo.
Trejo, 15, is a student at Atrisco Heritage High School.
Albuquerque police say someone threw a rock from a backyard that faces the street as the bus passed by. The rock was shattered the bus window.
Trejo told KRQE News 13 getting hit by the rock did not really hurt, but he said the whole incident freaked out everyone on the bus.
"They started screaming; they thought it was like a bomb or something," he said.
After the driver stopped the bus, Trejo was treated in an ambulance before being picked up by his family.
