Police arrest man accused of stabbing Artesia homeowners

ARTESIA, N.M. (KRQE) - A man accused of stabbing a couple in their Artesia home is behind bars.

Artesia Police say a family came home from out of town back in December to find Gonzalo Rodriguez in their house.

When the couple tackled him, they say he attacked them both with a knife, causing minor injuries.

Police connected Rodriguez to the December crime after pulling his DNA off his bloody tennis shoe left at the scene.

Rodriguez turned out to be the brother of the man the family asked to watch their house while they were gone.

Rodriguez was arrested Thursday night at his home in Clovs.
