ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A Peralta man is dead and an Arroyo Seco woman jailed after a fatal rear-end collision on Interstate 25 Friday night.
The crash happened about 7:15 p.m. in the northbound lanes near Bobby Foster Road south of Rio Bravo Boulevard shutting down that section of roadway for several hours.
According to Bernalillo County sheriff's deputies Emily Ruffin ran into the back of a vehicle driven by Thomas Fosbre sending Fosbre rolling off the freeway. Fosbre, 67, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputies on the scene reported Ruffin, 60, smelled of alcohol. She later tested above the 0.08 limit for presumed intoxication, according to a spokesman for the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department.
She was arrested about 9 p.m. and booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center charged with vehicular homicide. She is being held on a $75,000 bond, according to MDC records..
