ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Deputies say a convicted sex offender was molesting his young granddaughter and tried to get her other grandfather in trouble.
Clarence Hargrave, 50, was in court Sunday charged with multiple counts of sexual abuse against a child and intimidation of a witness.
Bernaillo County deputies say the girl's mother told Michigan authorities that Hargrave had been molesting her daughter in both states starting when she was 6 or 7-years-old in Flint.
But investigators say most of the abuse took place in Albuquerque.
At one point, deputies say Hargrave told the girl her other grandfather would go to jail if she told anyone about the abuse.
Hargrave was convicted of molesting another girl in Michigan back in 1994.
He is in jail on a $1 million bond.
