SANTA FE (KRQE) - A man suspected of shooting and killing a teenager and herfather, also killing the teen's unborn child, has turned himself inafter a daylong search.
Marino Leyba Jr., 22, turned himself in in Los Alamos shortlyafter 9 p.m. Saturday.
According to Santa Fe police, Benny Lovato, 50, and hisdaughter, Sarah, were shot to death sometime before 11 p.m. Fridayat the Paseo del Sol Apartments on the 4500 block of Paseo del Solin Santa Fe.
Witnesses told police they saw Leyba leaving the apartment rightafter the shots were fired.
Deputy Chief Aric Wheeler said Leyba apparently had arelationship with Sarah Lovato.
"We don't know what type of relationship that is, but that'swhat we believe led to the incident that occurred last night," hesaid Saturday.
Neighbors said they believe Leyba may have been stalkingher.
It's not clear whether Leyba was the father of Sarah Lovato'schild.
Leyba faces three open counts of murder, one of which is for thefetus, who was 32 weeks along.
