ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The daughter of a woman whose body was found in a South Valleyditch reported her missing about a week ago, according to policerecords.
Debbie Arlene Martinez, 47, was wearing only a t-shirt, bra andone shoe when crews cleaning out an irrigation ditch near 2nd andBravo found her body Thursday morning.
Sgt. Mark Kmatz with the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office saidthere were no obvious signs of trauma. They first thought she hadbeen dead for two to five days, but now believe she has been deadfor longer.
Kmatz said if she had any bruising they may not be able to tellbecause the body had decomposed. He said the Office of the MedicalInvestigator performed a rape test, but the results arepending.
Her daughter last heard from Martinez about two weeks ago whenshe told police Martinez sent her a text that she "was crying." Herdaughter said that she was last seen at the Albuquerque RescueMission with a man, and had been released from jail that day.
Investigators said they're relying on someone to comeforward.
"There's going to be somebody who was the last person to see herand that person is going to have the majority of the answers andthat's who we'd really like to find," said Kmatz.
He said Martinez lived with her boyfriend. They're trying totrack him down to see if he can help with the investigation.
