SANTA FE (KRQE) - Santa Fe County sheriff's investigators arrested a suspect Wednesday in a road-rage shooting that occurred earlier in the week.
Investigators to Raymond Alberico into custody Wednesday evening charging him with multiple crimes including aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, child abuse and felon in possession of a firearm.
According to initial reports the shooting of a male victim occurred Monday in western Santa Fe at Rufina Street and Paseo Mel Senaida. The victim got out of his vehicle and confronted the other driver now alleged to be Alberico.
Investigators said that after a brief confrontation Alberico began firing a weapon from his car striking the victim in the leg and hitting the man's vehicle but missing the two juveniles inside.
The investigators later located a gold-colored sedan matching witness descriptions and linked it to Alberico, according to the Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office.
Alberico was booked into jail on the new charges and on an existing warrant accusing him of failing to comply with his conditions of probation.
