ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Police suspect alcohol played a role in a deadly crash in southwest Albuquerque Friday night.
The crash happened just after 11:30 p.m. on 98th Street SW near Tower Road when a southbound driver veered into the northbound lane and hit an oncoming car.
The man driving south was thrown from his car and later died at UNM Hospital. Police said they found alcohol containers in the wreckage of his car.
The other driver and a passenger were taken to the hospital and were in stable condition, according to police.
The dead man's name has not been released pending notification of his family.
