ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Attorneys for John McCluskey plan to cross examine his accomplices Tuesday in his murder trial.
Mccluskey and Tracy Province escaped from a prison in Arizona in 2010 with the help of Casslyn Welch.
Province says while on the run McCluskey got tired of their small getaway car, so the trio carjacked Gary and Linda Haas near Tucumcari.
Province testified they planned to let the Haas' live, but when he left McCluskey alone with them he heard four gunshots.
Province says McCluskey told him he killed the couple because he could not leave any witnesses.
The Haas' bodies were burned in their RVon a ranch near Santa Rosa.
Mccluskey's attorneys will try to discredit Province, focusing on his drug history.
