ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - YouTube is known for bringing homemade videos into the spotlight.
Now the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is getting into the mix.
"People have a chance to put together a video between 2-5 minutes, submit it through Facebook ," Tom Garrity with the Garrity group said.
People have been putting their fiesta videos on YouTube for years; this is different. The event basically is looking for a mini-commercial about how great your balloon fiesta experience was, using video from a fiesta you attended.
"We are trying to get the crowd involved so that everybody starts to talk about balloon fiesta," said Garrity. "Why not engage our advocates."
The contest started today, and Facebook users can vote on the best video starting next month.
"The person with the most votes will win a balloon fiesta pilot jacket from last year, which was actually a bomber jacket," he said.
Fiesta officials hope to get more young adults involved with this contest. They say you can enter the contest with even cell phone video.
