Suspect in fatal RV crash sentenced in separate case

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) - The man accused of causing a deadly crash in a stolen RV is headed to prison for a different crime.

David Barber was sentenced Tuesday to four years in connection to a 2016 gun store burglary.

Police say Barber is the same man who led police on a crosstown chase last summer.

It ended at Coors and Irving, where Barber slammed into another car and killing Tito Pacheco who was in another car.

Tuesday in court, Judge Stan Whittaker expressed concern about Barber's long criminal history and sentenced him to the maximum sentence available under his plea deal.

Barber is still awaiting trial for the RV chase and death.
