Brawl at youth soccer game prompts investigation

BERNALILLO, N.M. (KRQE) - The Duke City Soccer League is looking into a fight that erupted during a Youth League game last weekend.

On Saturday, Team Alameda was playing the Rio Galaxy in Bernalillo when two players exchanged words, pushed each other and a fight broke out.

Alameda's coach claims a parent from the Rio Galaxy grabbed and choked a 14-year-old female player, and also claims supporters of Rio Galaxy were yelling racial slurs at the predominately Hispanic team.

Rio Galaxy's coach says his team was also subject to anti-white slurs.

The Duke City League is now looking into the allegations and suspended both teams for one game.
