ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Several events honoring the service of past and current members of the military will be taking place throughout New Mexico on Memorial Day.
In Santa Fe, the National Cemetary will have their services for all military members who have served or are currently serving in the Armed Forces. The even starts at 10 a.m. on Monday and is open to the public at the National Cemetary.
Bernalillo will hold their ceremony at the Sandoval County Courthouse in front of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial wall, this begins at 1 p.m.
Nearby Rio Rancho will have their parade and ceremony starting at 10 a.m. The parade will start at Country Club Drive and go down Southern Boulevard, it will end at the Veterans Monument.
A few businesses and services will not be running in honor of the holiday. That includes most government offices, none of the ABQ Ride buses will be running and there's also no trash pick-up. However, you can take the family out to the ABQ Bio Park, they will be open.
