ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) — A western New York couple has one more reason to be thankful after the wife gives birth along a suburban Rochester highway.

Jeremy Bennett tells The Associated Press that he started driving his wife Delores from their home in Webster to Rochester's Highland Hospital early Thursday morning after she went into labor. Bennett says around 3:30 a.m., he pulled over on the side of Interstate 590 in the town of Brighton because the baby wasn't going to wait.

Bennett says he delivered his son in the car's front seat as it was parked on the side of the highway. The couple's 4-year-old daughter was in the car with them when the baby was born.

An ambulance crew took Delores and baby Matthew to the hospital. Bennett says both are doing well on Thanksgiving.
