Winter storm leaves crashes in wake

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Much of the state was covered in snow Thursday, including a large part of Albuquerque.
         
The roads were littered with accidents Thursday morning and as many drivers learned, the bridges were especially dicey.
             
Drivers had to slow down on the on ramp to I-25 in Los Chavez.
             
The situation was similar on the roads across the Albuquerque area.
    
Roads in the heights were especially tricky to maneuver but there were not major accidents.
    
The storm also dropped large amounts of snow on the mountains. The East Mountains got a significant hit and about 5 inches fell through the Tijeras area.
    
Roads were also slick in that area Thursday morning but there were no accidents.
    
In most areas the roads are already looking better.
    
Road crews have been out busy all morning and the sun is already coming out.
    
The state transportation department is reporting difficult driving conditions across the state.
