ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A fire of unknown origin is burning through grass and ponderosa pine in the Gila National Forest .
Dubbed the Jordan Fire, the blaze was reported Thursday and had grown to five acres by that afternoon.
The is about 10 miles southeast of the Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument and 3 miles east of Copperas Peak and State Road 15.
Five firefighters from the Wilderness Ranger District first responded to the fire with the 20-person Gila Regulars attack crew dispatched as well.
This is the first fire in the Wilderness Ranger District this year, according to a forest spokesperson.
